Matt Hughes

Matt Hughes has always excelled in athletics. He was a two time state champion, as well as, a High School All-American wrestler. He continued his success as a four-time collegiate All American wrestler. His great desire to compete lead to a brilliant career in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Matt is the 9-time World Welterweight Champion of the UFC. With a record of 45-9, Matt has traveled the world and has become a household name amongst mixed martial arts fans. His UFC career spanned 11 years, and he was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in May 2010. Hughes is considered by many as the greatest UFC welterweight champion in history. Upon Matt’s retirement from the ring, he has accepted a job with the UFC as Vice President of Athlete Development and Government Relations. Matt has volunteered his time to helping the young people of Hillsboro, Illinois and traveled numerous times to the Rancho 3M orphanage in Mexico for mission trips. Matt’s passion for the outdoors has led him to hosting UNCAGED with Matt Hughes. He has also become an active member of The First Presbyterian Church in Hillsboro, and a devoted family man.
